Committed to holistic student success, the committee advocates for mental health support, safe learning environments, and resources that enhance overall wellbeing for student, staff, and family.

Recognizing the link between attendance and academic success, the committee collaborates with families to address barriers and promote consistent student engagement in school.

In 2024, connected the WCPSS Office of Early Learning to every Human Services Regional Center in Wake County, NC. The purpose was early literacy screening and parent education/resources for kindergarten readiness.

In 2025, advocated for policy changes in professional development for cultural competency. Policy adopted and approved by the WCPSS Board. The purpose was to support educators in the WCPSS student focus model of See Me, Know Me, Engage Me, Challenge Me to connect with students for improved learning outcomes.

In 2026, hosted an Advocacy Day focused on student data for academic performance and college career readiness(CCR). Presented data to 40 organizations across Wake county that showed black and brown students as lowest performing with CCR. The purpose was to identify the opportunity gaps and build a road map from birth to 12th grade showin
